A new hypermarket store (4000m2 sales area) was the first store outside of Attica region for one of the main food-retail chains of Greece. As the endeavor was of paramount importance to the customer, the requirements for thermal comfort, IAQ and in the same time low energy consumption were too high. The new store is located outside of the historic city of Corinth. Due to the fact that the Mall is located in an ex Industrial area with historical value, there were some restrictions for the location of the HVAC units and the solution of big ducted units were the most suitable for that application. The modern requirements for Energy efficiency, and IAQ (High air filtration, humidity control etc) were meet with LENNOX AIRCOOLAIR units. LENNOX is a world leader on Air to Air HVAC units. Five units with total cooling capacity 640.kW were installed, equipped with inverter, return fan, high efficiency filters, freecooling , central control, CO2 sensors, enthalpy and humidity control. As a result, the store is operating with a very low energy consumption, the fresh air demands are precisely calculated depending on the real people occupancy based on CO2 measurement and shopping became a very nice experience although the high outside temperature and relative humidity (the sea is 15m away from the store)
